SSSTS is aimed at site supervisors or a first-line manager who currently have or are looking to obtain the position of supervisory responsibilities. It allows site supervisors to obtain an understanding of the legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities.
Who can attend this course?
Candidates must have a national insurance number to enroll in this course. Although there are no formal entry requirements for the course, all candidates must be within the role of a construction manager. All candidates will be required to demonstrate this role as part of the course. All candidates are expected to have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
The training is theory-based and is designed to support site supervisors completing the SSSTS an understanding of their legal health and safety supervisory responsibilities for their area of work actives. The training will walk you through and identify candidates’ duties as part of their role along with expectations of being a site supervisor and provide an understanding of their responsibility to contribute to the safety of the site. Successful candidates will be certificated by the CITB – Construction skills certificate.
All SSSTS training is delivered at our training centre based on the outskirts of Brighton; we pride our centre on providing a relaxing environment. We aim for 12-15 students per training course to ensure you receive a quality training experience and allowing an open forum during discussion periods.
The SSSTS training is delivered over 2 days within this time you will be asked to demonstrate your role using the skills you have obtained during the training which will be observed to ensure you have a competent level to be able to hold the CITB SSSTS certification.
There is also a multiple-choice exam held on the afternoon of the last day and all successful candidates will be processed for certification for SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) by the CITB Construction skills certificate which lasts for 5 years.
We ensure that everyone takes regular breaks, all lunch and refreshments are provided within your course.
