Course Details

Our new Domestic Installers course is your stepping stone into the electrical industry as an electrical installer or the start of your pathway to becoming a fully qualified electrician. If you’re currently working in the industry without the qualifications it will provide you with the necessary certification required for you to register with a competent scheme such as NICECIC or ELECSA.

The domestic installers course provides a range of theory and practical skills to enable you to work domestic house projects such as rewires, new extensions or replacing and working on other household electrics.

Who can attend this course?

Although there are no restrictions for the entry requirements for this course, Tungsten Training Centre believes in training quality into the industry so applicants progressing on this route should only work in domestic environments as the Domestic Installers Course is just the start of your pathway into the industry of becoming a fully qualified electrician, however, we also understand that at times some candidates only want to peruse domestic type of works, which is why this course could be the right opportunity for you.

Course Content

Throughout the domestic installers training course, you will receive a high level of training in theory and practical skills to enable you to peruse your role as a domestic installer. During the practical training, our team will provide you with tool requirements for the job demands, building lighting circuits, socket outlet circuits, cooker & shower circuits, etc. Our practical workshop is the perfect space for you to put your domestic skills into action, along with understanding earthing and bonding and the process for the work required.

The theory training will give you detailed information on why you complete the practical elements and the cable breakdown and sizing to ensure you have a full understanding of the works you will be undertaking within the industry. The domestic installers qualification is a City and Guilds qualification and our delivery team will ensure you receive the qualification standards to the highest specification to meet with building regulations.

As part of the course we will also provide you with an 18th Edition 3-day wiring regulations course prior to your Domestic Installers course to ensure you understand the industry requirements.

We will also include a 2391 Test and Inspection course to provide you with the necessary qualifications to enable you to test your works when out in the field as a domestic installer.

Course Delivery

All training is delivered at our training centre based on the outskirts of Brighton; we pride our centre on providing a relaxing environment. We aim for 12-15 students per training course to ensure you receive a quality training experience and allowing an open forum during discussion periods.

We have 2 different packages for the delivery of this qualification to allow us to meet the requirements of our clients.

Option 1: We offer 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off the program which will allow you to complete the program within 6 months but providing the necessary break time for you process the content delivered and put your skills into action.

Option 2: The program can be delivered as a 1 day a week release over the course of 50 weeks with 3 days upfront for the 18th edition regulation training and assessment and 6 days around week 30 for your 2391 Test and Inspection training and assessment.
