CCN1 ACS Reassessment 

What is the CCN1 Re-assess course? 

Our CCN1 ACS reassessment (renewal) is for candidates who have previously held a Gas Safe Registration and are required to renew their ACS to enable them to continue working under the Gas Safe registration scheme.

CCN1 Re-assess is required to be completed every 5 years to continoue to maintain Gas Safe Registration. 

Our CCN1 course is for domestic gas engineers who are required to renew their ACS for the Gas Safe Registration scheme and to continue working within the gas industry. The training will provide candidates with the latest gas safety regulations and ensure your knowledge within the gas industry is current. Depending upon the work area specified the candidate would normally undertake a core training and assessment e.g., CCN1, followed by one or more appliances or specialised training and assessments:

  • Domestic Natural Gas – CCN1 Including combustion performance analysis.
  • CENWAT – Central heating boilers and water heaters
  • CKR1 – Cookers
  • HTR1 – Heaters
  • MET1 – Meters

You must have been registered on the Gas Safe Registration Scheme for a minimum of 12 months to enable you to add additional appliances to your initial gas safe registration.  

What is the Course? 

The CCN1 Gas course has 2 days of training, 1 day for written assessments, and 1- 2days allocated for your ACS gas assessments. Our team can support you with any exam requirements and adjustments you may have (evidence may be required)

  • Combustion, relevant pressures, and gas rates
  • Gas pipework
  • Tightness testing and purging, including low and medium-pressure
  • Chimney systems recognition and testing
  • Ventilation
  • Gas controls
  • Flue gas analysis

Gas appliance re-assessment training covers:

  • Installation defects
  • Basic gas safety fault finding


Who is the CCN1 Re-assessment course for? 

Membership of the Gas Safe register is a legal requirement for any installer wishing to carry out gas work in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, and Guernsey.

The CCN1 Re-assess course is for candidates who only have 6 months left on their ACS ticket on their Gas Safe Registration and still want to pursue a career within the Gas industry. Candidates may also complete the ACS renewal if their ACS has lapsed up to 12 months. 

We offer this course as face-to-face learning at our centre near Brighton to ensure you obtain the most direct training and support from our delivery team and plenty of opportunities to have technical discussions and ask questions throughout the course.

The gas books are provided to candidates for their course.
