Experienced Worker Route (2346-03)

Our Experienced Worker Route is for candidates who have been working in the electrical industry as a practicing electrician for at least 5 years but do not currently hold the qualifications to enable them to join an electrician certification scheme or an approved contractor scheme in the UK such as the NICEIC, NAPIT or the ECS check system.

The Experienced Worker Route demonstrates technical knowledge, performance, and competence to the electrical industry standards at Level 3. The Experienced Worker Route is an assessment of job knowledge as specified within each qualification unit and evidence from the workplace that demonstrates competence against the performance criteria within each qualification.

The Experienced Worker Route is for electricians who have been working in the industry, as a practicing electrician, for at least five years (not including time spent in whole or part-time training) but have not formally completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ qualification. Candidates who are not required to be employed to complete the experienced worker route.

Before completing the Experienced Worker Route, you need to complete some pre-approval checks with our centre to ensure you meet the eligibility requirements.

1. You must be able to evidence of your working career in the Electrical industry this can be done by providing evidence that you have been practicing as an electrician in the industry for 5+ years by providing CIS Statements, payslips, contracts, and approved contractor status renewals (request the full list).
2. Completion of a skill scan to ensure you can meet the working range requirements to be eligible for the experienced worker route.
3. Currently hold a 2391-52 Inspection and Testing or equivalent and a BS7671 2^nd amendment 18^th edition or the most current regulations – If you do not currently hold these are friendly team will be able to assist you with booking these dates.

You will be provided with our centres bespoke online assessment pack and allocated a dedicated assessor to support you throughout your Experienced Worker Route. Your assessor will be your direct point of contact and will be able to ensure the evidence you have submitted meets the criteria. Your assessor will complete 2 site visits throughout your completing your Experienced Worker Route.

The evidence is gathered through several methods of assessment, which include job reports, reflective accounts, photographic evidence, risk assessments, method statements, and other criteria which you may use when completing electrical works on-site on a day-to-day basis.
