What is the Managed Learning Course?

 

The Gas Foundation Managed Learning programme will provide you with the foundation knowledge for starting your career journey in the Gas Industry. The course covers domestic gas work and will embed the core domestic gas requirements by delivering theory and practical training. The Gas Foundation Managed Learning programme is for those who require obtaining a recognised qualification and may already be working in mechanical services or plumbing

 

We offer this course as face-to-face learning at our centre near Brighton to ensure you obtain the most direct training and support from our delivery team and plenty of opportunities to have technical discussions and ask questions throughout the course.

The Managed Learning Programme will be train candidates in the following areas appropriate to the industry sector:

  • Pressure, Flow, Tightness Testing and Purging
  • Domestic Pipework Installation

  • Installation and Servicing of Domestic Central Heating and Hot Water Appliances
  • Installation and Servicing of Domestic Ducted Air Heaters
  • Installation and Servicing of Domestic Cooking Appliances
  • Installation and Servicing of Domestic Space Heating Appliances
  • Installation of Domestic Meters
  • Principles and Procedures of Fault Diagnosis
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Installations
  • Installation and Servicing of Non Domestic Heating Appliances
  • Installation and Servicing of Non Domestic Catering Appliances
  • Installation and Servicing of Non Domestic Laundry Appliances
  • Installation of Non Domestic Pipework

What is the course?

 

The managed learning programme is a structured programme of guided learning hours to meet the requirements for new entrants in the gas industry which is compliant with IGEM/G1 supplements 2 & 3.

Candidates will undertake formative assessments throughout their managed learning programme and complete summative assessment on completion.

As part of the managed learning programme all learners will be required to access 'on the job' gas work experience, gained whilst under the supervision of a registered gas installer, acting as the candidate's mentor to support them in completing a portfolio of evidence.

Throughout your Gas Foundation Managed Learning programme, there are a range of assessment method which includes multiple choice, short written response, and scenario questions, and observed practical tasks using a realistic scenario within an assessment centre.

Our team can support you with any exam requirements and adjustments you may have (evidence may be required) 

On completion of you meeting the training hours requirements, assessments portfolio and all evidence is sufficient a training completion certificate will be issued which will enable the learner to book and undertake their ACS CCN1 initial covering the remit they have completed within their managed learning programme.  


Who is the Managed Learning Programme For?

 

Our Gas Foundation Managed Learning Managed Learning programme (Gas Foundation Course) is for candidates who are looking to start a career in the Gas industry and wish to register on the Gas Safe Register.

The managed learning program is designed for new entrant candidates into the gas industry and candidates who have some prior experience and knowledge of the building engineering services industry. All candidates undertake an initial assessment of their learning to ensure we can support them in completing their managed learning programme.

 

All candidates will be required to be mentored to allow them to access “on the job” gas work experience, gained under the supervision of a registered gas safe installer.

 

On completion of the Gas Foundation Managed Learning programme course and when you have received your certificate you can apply to sit your ACS assessments, this is a separate training and assessment to the Gas Foundation Managed Learning programme course and can be booked online by selecting a course date which is most suitable for you or alternatively, our friendly sales and admin team can support your enquiry by calling 01273 934278.
