International Women's Day: Women in the construction industry
Today, on March 8th, we commemorate International Women's Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It's a day to recognise the contributions women have made to society and to reaffirm our commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.
This year's theme, "Inspire inclusion," calls for challenging stereotypes, eliminating discrimination, and creating a more inclusive world for all genders. It's a reminder that the fight for gender equality is far from over and that we must continue to strive for a society where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal rights and opportunities.
This international women's day at Tungsten training centre, we will celebrate international women's day. The theme for this year is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, together we will forge a better world.
And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. At Tungsten training centre we embrace anyone from any background who wants to be certified and credible in their field of work.
Women in the construction industry face unique challenges and opportunities. While historically a male-dominated field, more and more women are entering the construction industry and making significant contributions.
Our female director, Dayna Barlow, has been in the industry for several years. She has faced multiple discriminatory challenges throughout her career and seeks to change common misconceptions and criticism about women in the industry.
Dayna also seeks to embrace and normalise women in the industry, she looks to inspire people in her position to speak out and be proud of their position in the construction industry.
At Tungsten Training Centre, we embrace diversity in the industry. We believe anyone who wants to excel in their career and receive the relative education required for their success, no matter the background they come from.
